Mike joined the Account Management team of Ludus Tours in 2011 to help manage our continually growing list of U.S. sport federations. After spending several successful years in the recruiting industry, it was Mike’s passion for both sports and travel that attracted him to Ludus.

Born and raised in the Chicago area, Mike earned his degree in Business Management from Eastern Illinois University. After college he began his career in the Chicago office of the largest U.S. based recruiting firm, before eventually relocating to their San Diego office in 2001. It was on his first visit to San Diego that Mike discovered its amazing beaches and weather, making the move after one last Chicago winter. He brings with him more than ten years of experience in recruiting, business development, and account management.

Shortly after his move to San Diego, Mike decided he wanted to take on the challenge of running a marathon. After several months of training, Mike successfully completed his first 26.2 miler and has been chasing down PRs ever since. With marathon finishes at Chicago, Boston, New York, and most recently London, Mike has his sights set on Berlin in order to complete his quest to run all five World Marathon Majors. A self-described running geek, Mike enjoys challenging himself at all distances, on both trails and roads, and looks forward to finishing an ultra-marathon soon.

It was also after his move to San Diego that Mike developed his passion for travel. With a love for sun, beaches, and nightlife…Brazil’s Carnival was one of his favorite vacations. Other international destinations have included Mexico, Croatia, London, Prague, and Amsterdam, while many weekend getaways have included camping, backpacking, snowboarding, and visiting family and friends throughout the U.S.

A mid-westerner at heart, with a passion for Chicago sports and deep-dish pizza, he’s embraced all that San Diego has to offer. When he’s not running along the beach, you might find him at a nearby beach volleyball court, checking out the local music scene, or enjoying some of San Diego’s finest fish tacos and craft brews.
