Erin Aldrich-Shean joins the Ludus team as a Volleyball Account Director, after devoting nearly her entire life to the world of sports.
Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Erin grew up around a family full of athletes. Her grandfather, Ki Aldrich, was the number one pick in the 1939 NFL draft, and her brother, Steve, played college tennis. It took her until the old age of six years old, while watching the Opening Ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics, to declare to her parents that she would be an Olympian one day. At the age of 21, she made her first Olympic Team and competed in the high jump in Sydney 2000.
While in college at The University of Texas in Austin, Erin was a seven-time NCAA 1st Team Track & Field All-American, a four-time NCAA High Jump Champion, and a 1st Team NCAA Volleyball All-American. In 2000, she was named Big XII Athlete of the Year for her accomplishments as a student-athlete on both the volleyball court and the track.
Following graduation from UT, Erin continued to pursue her dreams as a professional athlete. She made a total of four USA Track & Field World Championship Teams and helped the USA Volleyball Team to bronze medal at the 2003 Pan American Games.
Erin played four years of professional volleyball in Italy and one year in Japan, before suffering from a severe knee injury in 2008, only months before the Beijing Olympics. Disappointed that she could not compete in the 2008 Olympics, Erin refocused her attention towards furthering her education while rehabbing her knee. She returned to business school in 2009 and graduated with her MBA in May 2011. While in business school, Erin was honored to be inducted into The University of Texas Hall of Honor for her professional and athletic accomplishments.
Erin married her best friend, Andrew Shean, in Dallas on July 9, 2011. She enjoys traveling, cooking with her husband, working out and watching movies in her spare time.
