Ann Lanari
Director, Beijing Summer Games

Ann joined Team Ludus as a guide for the Torino 2006 Winter Olympics. After learning the ropes, she moved her way up to managing events. Ann has been on-hand for the 2006 Soccer World Cup in Germany, Oktoberfest and San Fermin (Running of the Bulls).

Ann comes from the huge metropolitan town of Eveleth, Minnesota. In a previous life before Ludus, Ann was an environmental engineer who has worked on contracts with military bases around the world (where she developed her planning and problem solving skills). However, this world of sitting in an office, working with papers and computers all day long wasn't the best match with Ann’s hyperactive energy. She taught English in Korea, lived in Italy for 3 years, and spent time living on an olive groved/vineyard farm in order to learn how to make olive oil and wine. She’s even worked with honey-bees as a beekeeper.

Ann does her best to find free time for all of her hobbies, most of which have to do with obsession of working out! With all that energy, Ann has learned how to use it in a healthy way. She enjoys training for triathlons, lifting weights, mountain biking, telemark skiing and anything else that places her outdoors. She completed the Ironman Triathlon in less than 11 hours. She is one of the strongest people under 4 foot 6 that you will ever meet. Her huge biceps are referred to as 'b-b guns.'

Ann’s passion for culture, travel and sports has led her to her important role at Ludus. She is in charge of the Beijing 2008 Summer Games for and manages the project from China with her husband Marc. They area based full time Beijing starting since November 2007.
